A board shaped at the top of the Swiss Alps journeys to the bottom of Africa
After visiting Cape Town in the beginning of the year, Swiss surfers Niko & Pascale fell in love with this beautiful place and its people. After a visit to our Local Surf Lounge Academy an idea was born to shape a surfboard high up in the Alps at Niko’s chalet, create a crowdfunding campaign around the project, then bring the board down to Muizenberg and gift it to the children of the surf club.
The board made it without any damage, and was an instant hit with the kids, hitting the waves within 30 minutes of being presented! Niko’s amazing group of friends ( ‘Merci a tous!’ ) raised even more than his initial crowdfund goal, and these valuable funds will go along way to help us improve and keep our club running. A beautiful aspect of the donation was we were able to buy a very comfy, large leather lounge suite that was really needed, so the kids can really chill and relax in comfort.
